For sale is an 1872 Two Cent Piece Graded MS65 BR by PCGS. This satiny Gem two-cent piece is lustrous and mark-free with plenty of underlying mint orange in view on both sides. The strike is exceptional and so is the eye appeal. The present specimen represents the finest individual grade for the date in the BN category at PCGS. One of only 65,000 examples of the date produced in the final year of the series, 1864 to 1873, where circulation strikes were a fact of life; in 1873 only Proofs were produced in the denomination. Don’t be swayed by the BN designation, for this specimen is more than just run-of-the-mill brown.
